-Matt Jarrell, Children and Youth Pastor
First Baptist’s Children’s Ministry desires to partner with parents in reaching, teaching and building kids of real faith and character that lasts. Children are encouraged to walk in their faith and grow in serving others at home, in their community and beyond. Through a safe and nurturing environment, loving volunteers connect with kids through our choir and missions programs on Wednesday night and our Sunday morning programs. Our ministry is designed for children, from kindergarten through fifth grade. In order to ensure the safety of your child while with us, we ask that you help us by observing some important guidelines developed with your child’s safety and happiness in mind.
The mission of the children’s ministry is to create a loving and caring environment where elementary children can receive the gospel and learn Biblical truth.
It is the goal of First Baptist Church to provide a safe environment for the physical and emotional well being of all children participating in church activities. The church’s goal is to inform volunteers and enforce policies to ensure that all children are safe and well protected while attending scheduled activities.
In reaching our goal, we create a ministry that is:
Loving and welcoming to children
Presented in a safe and clean environment
Devoted to teaching children about Jesus with story, songs, activities, love, and care.
We desire to:
Equip each child with basic truths of the Christian faith.
Share the gospel with each child to encourage personal salvation.
Well Child Policy
For the protection of your child as well as the other children, we ask that you not bring a child to church who appears to be ill. For the sake of the health of all children, if your child has or has had in the last 24 hours any of the following symptoms, please do not bring to the Children’s ministry.
* Fear * Vomiting
* Croup * Any unexplained rash
* Pink Eye *Any skin infection
*Sore throat *Diarrhea
* Common cold, from onset through one week
* Any symptom of childhood disease such as scarlet fever, German measles, mumps, chicken pox or whooping cough.
If your child develops a fever or other symptoms of illness while he/she is at FBC, he/she will be isolated and you will be notified. If your child develops an infectious disease (measles, mumps, chicken pox, etc.) following a session at FBC, please contact the Children’s Pastor (Matt Jarrell) immediately. All medication must be administered by a parent.
Parents should indicate any allergies your child has at the time of arrival. For sanitation purposes, we request that you use disposable diapers at church. This helps eliminate the spread of germs. Cloth diapers and soiled clothing are not rinsed out. They will be returned to you in a plastic bag.
