Next StepsGetting involved at First Baptist Church Swainsboro
“Whoever wants to be first among you must be your slave; just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:27-28
Our church loves to serve the people! Some of our projects include making mats for the homeless, partnering with Weekend Blessings, and working with Operation Christmas Child. If you have a heart to serve others, we can find an opportunity for you!
Mats for the Homeless
You are invited! Join the fellowship and fun on the 4th Wednesday of every month to gather to make mats for the homeless. We have the bags, we have the scissors, we are making mats, and WE JUST NEED MORE HELP… WE NEED YOU...
It takes lots of hands to produce a mat. On the 4th Wednesday of each month at 10 AM, all ladies of our church and community are invited to join in this project. Please invite a friend (invite several friends) and meet us in the Family Life Center. This mission project is a wonderful opportunity to share God’s love and time to fellowship together.
Brother hood is a group of men who are mission minded. They meet on the 2nd Monday of the month in the fellowship hall for dinner ($10), fellowship, and short program. They are intentional about finding the needs in the community and meeting them.
Women's Missionary Union (WMU)
WMU’s unwavering focus on making disciples of Jesus who live on mission happens through missions discipleship, leadership development and compassion ministries, with Kingdom impact in every state and 39 countries.
We have several WMU groups that meet at various times. Due to Covid19, our groups are not meeting in person yet, but hope to soon. If you want to be notified about WMU activities, please call the front office and ask to be connected with Lynda Morgan.
Weekend Blessings is a weekend backpack program that provides a weekend supply of kid-friendly, nutritious food to children that are at risk for food insecurity in Emanuel County.

Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.
If you’re interested in accepting Jesus Christ, we would love to talk with you! Please call our office or reach out to our staff.
Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer’s death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. It is a testimony to his faith in the final resurrection of the dead.
If you’re interested in salvation and baptist, our staff would really love to talk with you. Give us a call or email us!
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Philippians 4:6
We have prayer groups that meet regularly though the week. Ladies meet for prayer on Tuesday mornings at 9am and all adults are invited to our prayer meeting on Wednesdays at 5:45.
We believe it’s important that as Christians we are constantly working to reach people with the Gospel – locally, nationally, and internationally.
We have many opportunities to serve the people of our community, contact us if you want to get involved.
Our next opportunity for an out of state mission trip will be June 19-26. We are heading to Ashland, KY to serve the Appalachian communities. Sign up by Feb 28th if you want to join us!
